What this covers
This explains the cookies and similar storage technology (local storage, session storage, IndexedDB) that Posaura uses when you visit posaura.com or sign in to a Posaura app. It does not cover cookies set by an individual shop's own website if you follow a link there.
Strictly necessary storage we use today
Posaura currently uses only storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, which under UK PECR rules does not require consent:
- Firebase Authentication session storage, so you stay signed in.
- Firebase App Check token storage, which verifies requests come from a genuine Posaura app and helps prevent abuse.
- Temporary booking-form details held in your browser's session storage while you complete a booking, cleared when you close the tab.
- Stripe's own strictly necessary cookies during a hosted checkout, where applicable.
What we do not currently use
Posaura does not currently set advertising cookies or run third-party analytics/tracking scripts on posaura.com. If that changes, we will update this policy and show a consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set, in line with PECR and UK GDPR.
Managing storage
You can clear cookies and site storage at any time in your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and clear any in-progress booking draft. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent booking or sign-in from working.
